Northern Ireland 1 - 0 England

England Formation On The Match [ 4 - 3 - 3 ]
[ GK ]Paul Robinson
[RB]Luke Young [CB]Jamie Carragher [CB]Rio Ferdinand [LB]Ashley Cole
[DMC]David Beckham ( Captain )
[MC]Steven Gerrard [MC]Frank Lampard
[AMR]Shawn Wright-Philips [AML]Wayne Rooney
[SC]Michael Owen
Ok, Above There Is The New Formation Used By Sven-Goran Eriksson. He Has Changed His Standard 4-4-2 To This Either 4-3-3 Or 4-5-1. This Formation Doesn't Really Suit This England Team. It Doesn't Affect The Defenders Before It's Still The Standard Back 4. But From The Defenders Onwards, All The Troubles Come.
Firstly I'll Talk About David Beckham. As The Captain, He Is An Influencial Player. Sometimes His Tireless Performance Does Increase The Morale Of The Team. But Given The Midfield Anchorman Role, He Can't Perform. It's Because Firstly, He's Not An Aggressive Hard-Tackler Like Roy Keane, Patrick Vieira, Gennaro Gattuso Or Claude Makelele. Secondly, He Doesn't Have The Defensive Qualities Of A Midfield Anchorman. Thirdly, Yes. He Is Able To Deliver Pinpoint Crosses. But That Is When He Is A Winger And Not A Central Midfielder. Although He Can Deliver Very Accurate Passes, But In The Centre And As A Right-Footer. Mostly He Is Only Able To Pass To Either Flank Of Shaun Wright-Philips Or Wayne Rooney.
Now I'll Talk About The Central Pairing Of Steven Gerrard And Frank Lampard. Say The Truth, Both Of Them Are One Of The Best Midfield Pairing In The World. There Isn't Much Mistake By The Both Of Them In The Match. But Due To David Beckham Who Keeps Giving All The Long Passes To Shaun Wright-Philips. Both Of Them Are Mostly Chasing The Balls Instead Of Holding The Balls And Using Their Superb Long Shots. So There's Not Much Performance From The Both Of Them.
Now I'll Talk About The Wingers Shaun Wright-Philips And Wayne Rooney. Shaun Wright-Philips Is Still Ok With His Performance As It's His Most Used Position In Chelsea And Manchester City. He's Still Performing With His Killer Pace And His Cut Back Passes. But His Performance Is Far From Satisfactory. Wayne Rooney On The Left Wing Is Far From Impressive. Due To Him On The Left Flank, He Is Not Able To Run Towards The Defenders And Make Any Shots. And He's Fustrated As He Is Given Alot Of Defensive Responsibilites On The Flank And Also Due To His Bad Temper. He's Given A Yellow Card During The Game And Is Seen To Push Away His Captain David Beckham When He's Talking To Him.
Lastly I'll Talk About Their Lone Striker Michael Owen. Actually Michael Owen Doesn't Have Any Problems Given The Lone Striking Role. But He Is Not Able To React To David Beckham's Crosses Due To His Height And He Is Not Feed With Pinpoint Through Passes From Former Liverpool Team-Mate Steven Gerrard And Frank Lampard So He's Not Able To Perform His Fast Paced Dribbling And Superb Finishing Skills. So His Overall Performance Is Far From Satisfactory.
From The Newspaper Today, They Gave England A New Name After The Match Against Northern Ireland.
